The Alliance for Education is an independent, local education fund that works in partnership with Seattle Public Schools since 1995 to address big challenges facing Seattle students and schools. We develop, invest, and partner in programs that advance educational justice and increase racial equity for students in the Seattle Public School District. Our work is designed to challenge systemic inequities in public schools and create a more equitable and just education system that allows all Seattle students to thrive.
With your partnership, Seattle has made strides in reaching students furthest from educational justice, and though there is more room to grow, also serves as a leading example for the rest of the nation of how public education can transform when we all work together.
Advancing Racial Equity & Educational Justice
In 2018, the Alliance refocused our strategic plan to center our programs and investments to advance racial equity & educational justice. The Alliance is the local education fund serving all of Seattle Public Schools that can strategically invest outside dollars into the district for programs and strategies proven to increase equity and reach students furthest from educational justice. The Alliance is in constant conversation with district leaders and the superintendent to understand their changing needs and the best ways to support students.
