Join the Alliance for Education for Ready, Set, School: Volunteer Days—a community effort to prepare Seattle Public Schools campuses for the new school year!

The Alliance for Education is bringing together volunteers from local companies and community partners for ‘Ready, Set, School’ – volunteer days of service supporting Seattle Public Schools campuses. Volunteers will share their time and heart during a half day, group volunteer event at schools that need extra hands to prepare learning environments for students and staff to start school! How Can you Help?
Volunteer
If you are interested in volunteering, please RSVP to reserve your spot! Volunteer capacity is limited and projects were determined by administrators and teachers’ needs at each school.
- Friday, August 21, 12:30-3:30PM: Lowell Elementary (Capitol Hill)
- Saturday, August 29, 8-11AM: Nathan Hale High School (North Seattle)
- Saturday, August 29, 1-4PM: Dearborn Park International Elementary (Beacon Hill)
Make a Gift
While not required to volunteer, we are asking that you consider donating a sliding scale amount starting at $5. This can be done when signing up to volunteer or separately. Every donation helps the Alliance respond to the greatest needs of students, families and educators throughout the school year. The examples below show the kinds of support your gift can make possible:
- $5 – Provides student planner to learn life skills like time management and organization
- $23 – Covers the cost of school supplies for one elementary school student for a year
- $50 – Purchases a grocery gift card for a family over the weekend or a school break
- $680 – Could help provide an entire classroom of students with the school supplies they need for the year
P.S. Don’t forget to submit your employer’s donation match!
Donate Supplies
Your online shopping and leftover gift cards can make a difference! Dearborn Park International Elementary & Lowell Elementary have compiled an Amazon Wishlist for their student’s supplies and family resource center.
The average cost (varied based on grade level supplies) to support one student is $23 and an entire classroom is $680. Amazon provides bulk discounts when purchasing large quantities of one item, though any supplies are appreciated!
New or gently used school supplies can also be dropped off at the Alliance office in downtown Seattle on Mondays or Thursdays from 9am-5pm. Directions on arriving and parking can be found here online.
Thank You!
Whether you volunteer, make a gift, donate—or all three!—your support helps strengthen Seattle Public Schools and ensures students, families and educators return to welcoming, well-equipped classrooms that are ready for learning. Thank you for helping every student start the school year with confidence!
