Ready, Set, School: Volunteer Days
Welcome Students Back to School!
The Alliance for Education is bringing together volunteers from local companies and community partners for ‘Ready, Set, School’ – volunteer days of service supporting Seattle Public Schools campuses. Volunteers will share their time and heart during a half day, group volunteer event at schools that need extra hands to prepare learning environments for students and staff to start school!
Volunteers and donors will support real school needs that strengthen school communities and create cleaner, more welcoming spaces where students can return to school ready to learn!
Friday, August 21: Lowell Elementary (Capitol Hill)
Spots are limited – sign up soon to volunteer at Lowell Elementary from 12:30-3:30PM on Friday, August 21, 2026. Volunteer tasks will include:
👩🏽🏫 classroom & bulletin board setup
🧹 organizing classrooms
🌷 landscaping
🪑 moving supplies and furniture
🧽 cleaning and organizing shared spaces
While not required to volunteer, we are asking that you consider purchasing from the school supplies Amazon Wishlist below or donating a sliding scale amount starting at $5 when signing up to volunteer that will support students, families and educators throughout the rest of the school year!
Saturday, August 29: Dearborn Park International Elementary (Beacon Hill)
Spots are limited – sign up soon to volunteer at Dearborn Park International Elementary from 1-4PM on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Volunteer tasks will include:

Purchase Amazon Wishlist School Supplies for Students and Families
Want to help but can’t volunteer? You can also purchase school supplies for Dearborn Park International students and Lowell’s family resource center & teacher workroom from their Amazon Wishlist! The average cost (varied based on grade level supplies) to support one student is $23 and an entire classroom is $680! Amazon provides bulk discounts when purchasing large quantities of one item, but any supplies are appreciated!
New or gently used school supplies can also be dropped off at the Alliance office on Mondays or Thursdays from 9am-5pm. Directions on arriving and parking can be found online here.
