Gala, Auction + After Party Set for May 2 to Raise Funds for Equity & Justice in Seattle Schools

Registration is now open for Seattle’s local education fund annual celebratory and fundraising event!

The Alliance for Education is hosting their 2026 Gala, Auction + After Party on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 5:30 – 10 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Seattle. This year’s theme, Cultivating an Education Ecosystem Rooted in Equity & Justice, is inspired by the natural beauty that defines the Pacific Northwest.

The forests thrive not because of a single tree, but because of an interconnected system — roots woven together beneath the surface, sharing strength and nutrients. Our schools are no different. Student success is never the work of one classroom or one educator alone. It is powered by an ecosystem of families, community partners, donors, and advocates who believe that every child deserves opportunity.

The event will consist of a hosted reception from 5:30 – 7 p.m.; live program including new Seattle Public Schools Superintendent Ben Shuldiner and auction from 7 – 9 p.m.; and an after party from 9 – 10 p.m. All funds raised go toward the organization’s mission of supporting excellence in education by advancing educational justice and racial equity for students in Seattle Public Schools.

“Public education is at the heart of our city. Like our evergreen forests, our schools remain strong because of the community that grounds them,” says Zoe Poynor, development director at Alliance for Education. “When we nurture students now, we’re growing the leaders, problem-solvers, and changemakers who will shape our shared future.”

This evening is a gathering of educators, families, donors, partners, and advocates united by a belief that public education is a public good, and that when we invest together, students thrive for generations.

Join us in making an impact that reaches far beyond a single school year as we raise funds to advance racial equity and educational justice for Seattle Public Schools students. When we show up together, we create a canopy of support that allows 50,000 students to grow and flourish.
