We are stepping forward with additional emergency resources to ensure Seattle students can stay focused on learning and not where their next meal will come from. The Alliance is activating an additional $150,000 in emergency gift cards through the Right Now Needs Fund program this November. Connect with your school’s social worker or family support worker to receive a gift card or make a donation online to support this direct action.
Become a Teacher in Seattle Public Schools - Apply Before December 12
Are you interested in becoming an elementary teacher in Seattle Public Schools and motivated to act in the spirit of educational justice? Apply for the Seattle Teacher Residency (STR)! STR is a full-time, 14-month long teacher training program that equips residents with the foundational knowledge and strategies to become culturally-responsive and highly effective teachers in Seattle Public Schools. Join an upcoming Informational overview session on Zoom and be sure to apply before the 2026-27 school year deadline of December 12, 2025!
Meet Our New President: Roxanne Christian
The Alliance Board of Directors has named a new President following a rigorous executive search: Roxanne Christian. Christian is a known community leader with over 20 years in public education and philanthropy. The Board is excited for how she will lead this next chapter building upon the Alliance’s 30 years serving as the local education fund for Seattle Public Schools since 1995.
