Starlie brings more than 12 years of experience in education to her role as the Manager of Clinical Practice for STR, beginning her career as a high school mathematics teacher in Los Angeles. Life brought her to Seattle where she began to pursue a doctoral in Mathematics Education at the University of Washington. During her time at the UW, Starlie was able to work as an instructional coach for Seattle Teacher Residency and Elementary Teacher Education Programs, engage in a research-practice partnership through the Practical Measures, Routines, and Representations project, and teach in both the undergraduate and masters in teaching programs. Starlie’s dissertation focused on how doctoral students learn to become equity-oriented mathematics teacher educators.

When not focused on education, Starlie enjoys playing soccer, gardening, and being a mom!
